Other poetry advise!

Confidence is needed to write well, and a rush of confidence in spirit is the thing you need before diving in.

Confidence is largely a matter of feeling intelligent, though a poet needs more than that, yet Shakespeare was rarely clear about plot or narrative.  He had no stories or novels written.

Being silly or even a bit stupid for fun takes the morbid and heavy away.  This is so common in poetry that I often stay clear of that now.  Life can be bleak enough already.

Do not write for legacy or push hard to impress people as that produces fake prentious language.

Writing is capable of beauty and amazing imagery as let your imagination fly fearlessly.
