It was the California Indians that did the first time traveling and they believed that a flock of crows could warp time around them.

Rather than hurry they did a lot slowly.

They didn't worship nature that much.

Each morning was a ritual walk to a stream or river which was to start the day with a joyous experience.

They made freinds with birds and liked Ravens and Red Tail Hawks as favorites.

This simplicity was a discipline as well as peace keeping with nearby tribes.

Sweat Lodges were used for healing and community.

They did not consider themselves as less advanced then the Pueblos.

Silence was also apart of commication and thinking.

Individuals were expected as part of the quest to adulthood.

Women took great pride in making baskets of great quality and feather work.

Mens hunting often was fishing not hunting.

They ate acorns and some larvae from insects.

They included their studies of animals and nature with white peoples more scientific research.

Ishi being the last Indian living away from the new cities was taken in and a gentleman in every respect, but clothing and language differences.
