Science can not be approached from just a mathematical perspective.

It rubs me the wrong way, even though it is logical.  There are ideas and questions that can allow things in concept to be revealed which where unthinkable before then.  To not go there seems fearfull in an area of exploration that should value an intellectual fearlessness and not the opposite.  Otherwise science could look small minded rather than bold enough to realize the impossible and the totally hidden.  To hold back the mind for math alone seems both unimaginative and highly limited.
