Perhaps that dimension requires "Beauty" for substance to be visable enough or real enough.

Not saying that what is "Ugly" has no substance, but may be fading to the point of vanishing, or a relationship to how we think and feel and the stability of physical things in the universe.  This means fading perhaps, but not quite vanishing.  But perhaps that is what happens to all your missing socks in the laundry machine?
