Tips for poets


Trust descriptive language:

It is unlikely to rule the poem if you let your feelings shine through.


Don't begin to think poetry is crazy:

History will show you how absolutely normal poetry is.


There is enough sex and violence out there:

When it comes to expressing other things poetry rules.


Don't rush yourself to write a poem:

Let it come to you.  A first line or even a frightening or powerful mental image can do wonders for some reason I can not fathom.
