I am not into comparing my country with others. It is haunted by certain kinds of characters unique to this soil. For me the soil is very much alive to me. I know I don't own the land here, but I feel a strong kinship to it. I feel that there are many sacred places here. The local Indians could have become more like the Navaho Indians, but I believe this land was more important than being "Advanced' or "Warlike." As I understand it the Indians here strove to be in very close harmony with Nature. I mean that this was not an easy enterprise. These people were trying to master a way of life and being.
