Shakespeare was also met with opposition by the establishment and three writers in particular as an upstart.

In New York the Producer of my second play confessed being haunted by the poetic quality of my play.  It became the best play of the season and caused plenty of emotion.  Needless to say I was not invited back the next year.  At least I'm a legend there.  Also I did a little showdown with the academy of poets to free poetry essentially and thanks to current Poet Laureate all Americans are invited to contribute the great epic of the American Experience!!!
